Happy Easter! I hope everyone enjoyed the break.
First Communion practice 5:30-6:30 today. 4/25. Celebration of Light at 6:30. Parents only. First Communion, Saturday, April 30, 2022. Children should arrive by 9:30. We are focusing on reviewing everything we learned in our Gold Book this week. In Reading, we are working Poetry this week. In Spelling and Phonics, our words are S sound spelled c, J sound spelled g or dge. Spelling test on Friday. In Math, we are working on Numbers to 1,000. In Science, we are working on a new unit on The Earth and Recycling. In Social Studies, we are working on American Symbols and Costs of Different Things We Need. In Vocabulary, we are working on Unit 13. In Religion, we are reading Easter Stories. Christ Is Risen! In Handwriting, we are continuing cursive. April Reading Logs and Sequence sheets will be due on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. First Communion Project directions will be coming home this week. 12:30 dismissal on Friday, May 6, 2022. May Food Pantry Items are beans and rice. Have a great week!

In Reading, we are working on a folk tale, Rechenka's Eggs.
We are working on Vocabulary, Sequencing, and comprehension questions. In Math, we are working on Topic 9, Numbers to 1,000. We are working on a jelly bean fraction activity. In Spelling and Phonics, we are reviewing. No new words this week. In Grammar, we are working on editing for capitalization and punctuation. In Science, we are finishing up our Weather unit. In Social Studies, we are working on maps and directions. Wednesday, April 13th, First Communion workshop. Thursday, April 14th, Holy Thursday. 12:30 dismissal. No tutoring. Happy Easter! In Religion, we are learning about the events during Holy Week. In Reading, our new story is My Food, Your Food. This is Realistic Fiction and a Procedural Text. We will focus on Making Inferences and Text Evidence.
In Spelling and Phonics, our new words are: oo, ue, ew, and ui. In Writing, we wrote about Spring. We are so excited that Spring is here. In Grammar, we are reviewing Common and Proper Nouns. We are also working on stopping to think about Punctuation. In Vocabulary Workshop, we are finishing up Unit 12. We will have a test on Thursday, April 7th. In Math, we are working on Numbers to 1,000. In Religion, we are working on Parts of the Mass. In Science, we did an amazing job on our Weather Projects. We are continuing our Weather unit. In Social Studies, we are working on Directions and Maps. We will be reading Rechenka's Eggs. This is a beautiful story about the tradition of decorating eggs. In Handwriting, we are continuing cursive. Food Pantry items are : canned fruit, vegetables, and boxed potatoes. Ice Cream on Friday. Student Council Basket Raffle begins on Monday 4/11.
