In Reading, we are working on a new story, How Many Stars in the Sky?
This story is realistic fiction. In Phonics and Spelling, our words are short vowels. Spelling test on Friday, October 29th. In Grammar, we are reviewing Pronouns, Nouns, and Verbs. We will have a Grammar test next week. In Math, we are reviewing Topic 2. We will have a Math test on Wednesday, October 27th. We will move on to Adding within 100 and Regrouping. In Science, we are working on Matter. In Social Studies, we are working on Maps. In Vocabulary Workshop, we are starting Unit 3. In Religion, we are reviewing Unit 1 for our Religion Test on Thursday, October 28th. Halloween costumes may be worn to school. We will have a craft and small snack on Friday afternoon. November Book Logs and Sequence sheets are due on November 2nd. November Food Pantry items are Thanksgiving foods, canned vegetables, gravy, stuffing. Have a great week!

~ Picture Day is Tuesday, October 19th. ~ Winter uniform has started. Reminder that shoes should be black shoes. No colred sneakers. ~ Gold Books will come home. Please cover them with brown paper or gift wrap. Do not use clear contact paper. Please review Lesson 1 and return by Monday, October 25th. ~In Reading, this week we are doing a Cynthia Rylant author study. We are reading Henry and Mudge and Poppleton books. ~ No new Spelling words this week. ~ In Vocabulary Workshop, we are reviewing Units 1 and 2. We will have a Vocabulary test on Unit 2 on Thursday, October 21st. ~ In Math, we are working on even and odd numbers and arrays. Please continue to practice math facts. ~ In Science, we are starting a new unit, Matter. ~ In Social Studies, we are working on Maps. ~ In Religion, we are working on Ordinary Time and reviewing Unit 1. We will have a Unit 1 Religion test on Wednesday, October 27th. Religion books will come home on Friday, October 22nd to review. ~ In Scholastic News, our issue is Signs of Fall. ~ In Grammar, we are reviewing Nouns, Pronouns , and Verbs. Have a fantastic week! Our plant projects look amazing. I can see that the children worked very hard on their creations. Our October food pantry item is pasta. Please support the school project for character band aids. School Picture Day is October 19th. Reading Logs are due on November 2nd. In Reading, we are working on a realistic fiction story, Tara and Tiree. Our comprehension skill is Sequencing. In Vocabulary Workshop, we are working on Unit 2. In Spelling and Phonics, our words are ar, or, and ore words. In Math, we are moving on to Topic 2, Working with Equal Groups. In Grammar, we are working on Verbs. In Science, we are finishing up our unit on Plants this week. In Social Studies, we are working on Being a Good Citizen and Christopher Columbus. This month we are collecting pasta for the food pantry. The school project this moth is band aids. The Kindergarten is collecting socks if anyone can help them out. No school on Friday, October 8th and Monday, October 11th. Science plant project is due October 12th. Directions were in the Friday Folder. Spelling homework begins this week. We will have our first Spelling test on Thursday, October 7th. Directions are in Google Classroom and inside the Spelling journal. We will have a Math test on 2 digit addition on Wednesday, October 6th. In Reading, we are reading A Walk in the Desert. Our comprehension theme is Main Idea and Details. In Vocabulary Workshop, we are working on Unit 2. In Spelling and Phonics, we will be working on words with er and ing endings. In Math, we rea reviewing 2 digit addition. Math test on Wednesday. In Science, we are working on Seeds and how they are spread. In Social Studies, we are working on Being a Good Citizen. In Religion, we are learning about St.Francis. Have a great week! |
