In Reading, we will be working on Poetry. We will continue working on cpmprehension strategies.
In Spelling, our new words are ch, wh, sh, th, ph, tch. In Vocabulary Workshop, we will have a Unit 4 test on Thursday, December 2nd. We will be moving on to Unit 5. In Math, we will be reviewing Compensation and continuing with 2 digit Addition with regrouping. In Religion, we will be learning about Advent. In Social Studies, we are learning about famous Americans. In Science, we are working on Hibernation. Oasis Collection is Tuesday, November 30th. Spirit Week- Tuesday is Crazy hats, socks. Wednesday is Christmas cheer. Wear Christmas outfits. Thursday is Ultimate Fan Day, favorite team, movie, musician. Friday is School Pride Day. IHM Spirit wear. November Book Logs and Sequence Sheets are due by Friday, December 3rd. Christmas Traditions Projects are due on Friday, December 10th. Free Dress and Pizza Lunch will be on Wednesday, December 8th. Food Items- Reverse Advent Calendar. This week: Stuffing mix, can of sweet potatoes, can of cranberry sauce, boxed potatoes. December 16th, School Concert 2nd grade performs. 12:30 dismissal on Friday, December 17th. 12:30 dismissal on Wednesday, December 22nd.

In Reading, we will be reading Squanto's Story and Arthur's Thanksgiving. We will focus on Sequencing and Comprehension.
No new Spelling words this week. In Math, we are working on Compensation. This is a strategy that makes it easier to Add 2 digit Numbers. In Vocabulary Workshop, we are reviewing Units 3 and 4. In Religion, we are talking about what we are thankful for. We are finishing up our Gold Books. Please review and return them by Monday, November 29th. In Social Studies, we are learning all about Thanksgiving. In Science, we are continuing our unit on Matter. 12:30 dismissal on Wednesday, November 24th. Thank you to everyone who sent in food for the Food Drive. The 2nd grade and 4th grade were winners for collecting the most food. The HSA is giving pizza and a free dress pass. I will let everyone know the date once it is finalized. Book Logs for November are due on December 3rd. Please remember to send in the Log and Sequence Sheet. Please send in 6 Thanksgiving foods that you eat on Thanksgiving. Please send them in by Friday. In Vocabulary Workshop, we are working on Unit 4. Wednesday, November 24th is a 12:30 dismissal. We will have a Thanksgiving Sharing of small healthy snacks. Sign up at conferences. Thank you! Thanksgiving Food Drive. We are doing our collection with the HSA. Thanks you for all of the donations. It is greatly appreciated. Conferences are Monday, November 15th and Tuesday, November 16th. Report Cards will be given out. Student Council Snack sale is on Friday, November 19th. We talked about being responsible and remembering our things. The students are reminded at the end of the day what they need to bring home. ~ In Reading, we are working on a new story, Maybe Something Beautiful. It is realistic fiction. We will continue to work on use the text to complete charts about what we have read. ~ In Phonics and Spelling, we are working on Long Vowels. We will have a Spelling Test on Friday, November 12th. ~In Grammar, we are working on a review of Nouns, Verbs, and Pronouns. We will have a Grammar Test on Tuesday, November 16th. ~In Math, we are continuing with Topic 3. We will work on Break Apart to Add Numbers. ~In Vocabulary, we are reviewing Unit 3. We will have a Unit 3 Vocabulary Test on Thursday, November 11th. Vocabulary cards were sent home. Please review. ~ In Social Studies, we will work on Goods and Services. We will also learn about Veterans Day. ~ In Science, we will continue learning about Matter. ~In Religion, we will be learning about The Ten Commandments. Have a fantastic week! In Social Studies, we are working on Being a Good Citizen, we will also learn about Election Day. In Science, we are working on Matter. In Vocabulary Workshop, we are working on Unit 3. In Religion, we are working on Lesson 2 in our Gold Books. Please cover them with gift wrap or a brown bag. No contact paper. We are also learning about All Saints Day and All Souls Day. In Writing, we will start on a new writing piece about Thanksgiving. October Reading Logs and Sequence sheets are due tomorrow, November 2nd. November Logs were sent home today. 12:30 dismissal, Friday, November 5th. Conferences are November 15th and 16th. These are both 12:30 dismissals. Reminders will be sent with appointment times. November Food Pantry items are canned vegetables, stuffing, gravy, and cranberry sauce. Winter uniform- Please remember black shoes should be worn with the winter uniform. Visits to Nurse Jen.
