In Reading, we are working on a biography about Helen Keller. We will use sequencing to look at the events through her life.
In Spelling, we are reviewing. No new words this week. In Writing, we are writing about Spring! In Math, we are having our Topic 8 Math test on Tuesday, March 29th. We will move on to Numbers to 1,000. In Science, we are working on Weather. Weather Projects are due on Friday, April 1st. In Social Studies, we are finishing up Women's History Month. In Religion, First Penance is Tuesday, March 29th at 6:00. We will be learning about Parts of the Mass. In Handwriting, we are hard at work on cursive. The children are doing a wonderful job. March Reading Logs are due on Monday, April 4th. A reminder that both the Sequence sheet and Log are due together. April Logs will be given out this week. April Food Pantry items: canned vegetables, canned fruit, instant potatoes. Ice cream is sold on Friday's. We are attending Mass on Friday, April 1st. Please be at school by 8:15. Have a great week!

Happy Spring!!
In Reading, we started a new story, The Abenaki. This story is Informational Text. We will use charts to help us understand parts of the story. Storytelling, food, their culture, and traditions. In Spelling and Phonics, dipthongs, oi ,oy, ou, ow. In Math, we are reviewing money. We will be moving on to Telling Time. In Religion, we are learning more about First Communion. Please review The Form for Confession and The Act of Confession. First Penance is March 29th at 6:00. In Social Studies, we are working on Women's History Month. This week we will earn about Amelia Earhart and Helen Keller. In Science, we are working on Weather. Weather Projects are due on April 1, 2022. In Vocabulary Workshop, we are finishing up Unit 11. We will have a Vocabulary test on Thursday, March 24, 2022. Pretzel Rod sale on Thursday. 2 for 25 cents. Ice Cream on Friday. We will be attending 8:30 Mass on April 1st and April 14th. Please be at school by 8:20!!! Food Pantry items are tuna and mayonnaise. In Reading, we are finishing up our story from last week. Interstellar Cinderella. and An Island Cinderella. We will be comparing both stories to the traditional Cinderella story.

In Vocabulary, we will have our test on Unit 10 on Tuesday, March 15th. We will move on to Unit 11. In Grammar, we will begin working on Pronouns. In Writing, we are finishing up our final draft of My Favorite Food. We will share our writing with our classmates. In Religion, we will be focusing on First Communion. We will also do a final review for First Penance. We will also read about St Patrick. In Handwriting, we are working nicely on cursive letters. March Food Pantry items are: tuna fish and mayonnaise. St Patrick's Day bagel breakfast if you ordered. Lost and Found table will be set up. Check it out if you are missing something. First Penance, March 29th 6:00. Ice Cream on Friday. In Reading, we will start a new story, Interstellar Cinderella. This story is a Folktale. We will focus on visualizing details. We will also compare and contrast characters.
In Math, we will begin Topic 8, Money. In Spelling and Phonics, we will work on r-controlled words spelled er, ir, ur. In Science, we are working on a new unit, Weather. In Social Studies, we are working on Women's History Month. We will learn about women in history. In Religion, we will finish up our last lesson in our Gold Book. Lesson 9, Going Forth to Make a Better World. In Writing, we will finish up our writing pieces on Favorite Foods. Food Pantry items are tuna fish and mayonnaise and tuna fish. 12:30 dismissal on Friday, March 11th. |
